Allow Me to Introduce Myself

A New Journey Begins

My name is Jean, and welcome to The Ordinary Dev! After 10+ years of building software, managing projects, and working at various companies in different spaces, I've got some stories and insights to share.

But first, here is a little bit about me. When I'm not coding, you'll find me trying new recipes in the kitchen, exploring different corners of the world, or cheering on my favorite sports teams. But during the day, I'm a Senior Software Engineer at Datadog, who's had the opportunity to experience both the startup hustle (small tech) and the structured world of larger companies (big tech).

Why Start a Newsletter?

Throughout my career, I've noticed that while there's plenty of content about extraordinary success stories and groundbreaking innovations, there's less focus on the day-to-day experiences that shape most of our careers: the wins, the challenges, the awkward meetings, and the valuable lessons learned along the way.

I wanted to create a space to discuss real experiences from different company environments - from the energy of small startups to the complexity of large organizations. Whether you're navigating technical decisions, managing relationships with various types of managers, plotting your next career move, or stepping into the industry for the first time, I want to share insights that can help you along your journey.

What's Coming Up?
